Depression & Low Mood
When you’re struggling with low mood or depression, even small tasks can feel overwhelming. You may feel exhausted, disconnected, or stuck in a cycle of negative thoughts. It can be hard to talk about, and harder still to carry on your own.
Depression is more than just “feeling sad.” It’s a recognised mental health condition that affects your mood, thoughts, body, and relationships.
You might be experiencing:
A lasting sense of sadness, emptiness, or hopelessness
Loss of interest or pleasure in things that once mattered to you
Changes in sleep or appetite
Low energy or feeling constantly tired
Difficulty concentrating or making decisions
Feelings of guilt, worthlessness, or self-criticism
Withdrawing from friends, family, or activities
Thoughts that life isn’t worth living
Not everyone experiences depression in the same way. For some, it shows up as a heavy weight; for others, as numbness, irritability, or feeling constantly “flat.” However it shows up for you, it’s real, and it deserves care and attention.
At Reflect & Be, you will have a confidential space to:
Share openly what life feels like right now
Explore what might be contributing to your low mood
Learn ways to ease the heaviness and manage day-to-day challenges
Reconnect with a sense of purpose, energy, and hope
Depression looks different for everyone. Whether it’s long-term or more recent, I can help you make sense of what you’re experiencing and support you to take small, meaningful steps forward.
I work using Person-Centred Experiential Counselling for Depression (PCE-CfD)
a specialist approach developed specifically for people living with depression.
This way of working is:
Focused – it keeps our sessions centred on what you’re experiencing right now.
Compassionate – it offers space to explore feelings safely, without pressure or judgement.
Active – it gently supports you to notice, express, and work through difficult emotions, rather than staying stuck with them.
Empowering – it helps you connect with your own strengths and resources, so that change feels possible.
PCE-CfD has been shown to be effective in helping people move through depression, not by “fixing” you, but by creating the conditions where you can explore your emotions, thoughts and behaviours, and find new meaning in your life.
